Connex Education Liverpool is seeking an Assistant Compliance Manager to oversee safer recruitment vetting and safeguarding enforcement within a hybrid Liverpool-based role.

You will liaise on compliance matters, ensure alignment with KCSIE, and serve as a key contact for safeguarding concerns when the lead DSL is unavailable. The role emphasizes attention to detail and resilience under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1-2 years in a compliance or vetting role; education recruitment experience is a plus but not essential.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies in CVs and documents.
• Traits: Highly organised, articulate communicator, able to manage a high-volume workload.

Responsibilities

• Safer Recruitment: Manage, maintain, and safeguard the safer recruitment vetting process for all education staff (Teachers, TAs, Cover Supervisors, SEN Specialists) before deployment.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure alignment with statutory legislation including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
• Safeguarding Cover: Act as a primary contact for urgent safeguarding concerns when the lead DSL is unavailable.

The Role

This is a critical position split between compliance management and safeguarding enforcement. You will maintain rigorous vetting standards for our candidates while acting as a critical point of contact for safeguarding concerns.

• Salary: £30,000 per year
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Location: Hybrid (Liverpool Office, L2)

Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

• Safer Recruitment: Manage, maintain, and safeguard the safer recruitment vetting process for all temporary and permanent education staff (Teachers, TAs, Cover Supervisors, and SEN Specialists) before school deployment.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure total alignment and compliance with statutory legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
• Safeguarding Cover: Act as one of the primary points of contact for urgent safeguarding concerns when the lead DSL is off-site or unavailable.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a compliance or vetting role (experience within the education recruitment sector is highly desirable but not essential).
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to easily spot inconsistencies in CVs or official documents.
• Traits: Highly organised, articulate communicator, capable of managing a high-volume workload.
• Resilience: Exceptional emotional resilience; ability to remain calm, objective, and decisive under pressure.
