Job summary

Kent Removals and Storage is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Clayton South, VIC. This full-time hybrid role reports to the Financial Accountant and combines in-office work with some work-from-home days.

You will perform month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting, budgeting participation, and assist with payroll, AP/AR and audits. CA/CPA in progress and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

Accounting graduate with strong written and spoken communication skills.
Active progression through CA/CPA program is required.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

Complete end-of-month accounting and reporting processes.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with rental accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation journals.
Prepare internal P&L management reports for review.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Maintain general ledger with accurate working papers and files.
Cash flow planning and management.
Support payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Prepare quarterly BAS for the Kent group.
Assist with interim and year-end audits.
Prepare FBT end of year.

Kent Removals and Storage – Clayton South VIC

Business transformation is high on the agenda for Kent as we continue to excel in the current climate and look to the future through investment, technology, and industry leading practices.Supporting this growth and change is our Finance department who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the growing team.Reporting directly to our Financial Accountant, this fulltime hybrid role will be based in our Clayton office with some work from home days.

Some of what you’ll be doing:

Completion of the end of month accounting & reporting process utilising Accounting Software
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including preparation of rental, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset and depreciation journals and schedules
Preparation of internal profit and loss management reports for review
Participation in the periodic budgeting / forecasting process
Maintain general ledger ensuring accuracy and appropriate working papers and files to substantiate record
Cashflow planning and management
Assisting with the management reporting and financial analysis
Supporting the payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions where required
Preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statements for the Kent group
Assisting with interim and year-end audits
Preparation of FBT end of year

About You:

You’re an Accounting graduate looking for a long term career pathway with a large company, complemented with a strong level ofwritten and spoken communication skills. You are passionate about keeping up to date with financial accounting tools. You’ll be able to demonstrate your experience from previous rolesand work well in a team environment.

What you must have:

Minimum 2 years in an accounting role
Commenced and actively progressing through either the CA or CPA program
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced MS Excel skills
Strong attention to detail
Resilient and adaptive to change
An energetic and confident approach
Ability to work well within a team
