Overview

Albany Accounting & Consulting is a boutique accounting firm in Albany Western Australia comprising the Principal Levi Wheatcroft along with two Assistant Accountants. The firm provides accounting services to business clients throughout the great southern in a broad range of industries.

About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant on a part time basis comprising 20 to 30 hours per week on a flexible roster.

The role is primarily office based, with an option for up to 40% work from home.

This is an entry level position with no prior experience required, however a demonstrated desire and aptitude for a career in accounting is essential. This is a development position and is an ideal pathway to a full time accountancy role.

The successful applicant will be well supported with training as part of our small team.

Remuneration will be between $30 and $35 per hour, plus superannuation and leave entitlements.

Responsibilities
  • Reconciliation of bank transactions in client ledgers.
  • Collation of client revenue and expenditure documentation.
  • Preparation of simple tax related worksheets.
  • Collection, collation, and processing of correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Present in Albany Western Australia (no remote applicants or outsourcing agencies).
  • Certificate IV in bookkeeping and accounting, (complete or in progress).
  • Outstanding information technology skills, with a demonstrated aptitude and agility for embracing unfamiliar software platforms.
  • Strong motivation to establish a career in accounting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
