Job description

More than 50 years ago a foundation was laid, with a vision for the future. To re-imagine the environments where Australians would live, work and grow. In this time, Mirvac has evolved from a small joint venture to a thriving ASX-listed property group, leading in sustainability, innovation, safety, and placemaking.

At Mirvac, we know that it's our people, their passion and expertise and the exceptional experiences we create for our audience, that defines us.

The opportunity

As an Asset Performance Engineer you will provide technical, analytical and coordination support to the National Manager, Facilities Management and Regional Operations Managers across asset performance, reliability, maintenance effectiveness and lifecycle planning.

In this role, you'll help optimise asset performance by leveraging maintenance and operational data to identify trends, solve recurring issues and uncover improvement opportunities. You'll also support the preparation of technical information, scopes and documentation that guide operational priorities and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities include:
TECHNICAL
  • Analyse asset performance, maintenance and reliability data and prepare clear, accurate dashboards and reports for the National Manager, Facilities Management and Regional Operations Managers.
  • Review planned versus reactive maintenance performance, equipment breakdowns, repeat failures and recurring defects to identify trends, emerging issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the collection, validation and analysis of lifecycle and asset condition data to assist maintenance planning, renewal prioritisation and longer-term asset planning.
  • Undertake technical research and benchmarking on building services, maintenance practices, asset performance and relevant engineering matters as directed.
  • Coordinate technical investigations, inspections and specialist inputs, including arranging information, documenting findings and tracking agreed actions to completion.
  • Prepare data, analysis and supporting information for lifecycle, capital and operational decision-making, including business cases and technical recommendations prepared or approved by the appropriate accountable manager.
BUSINESS
  • Use available systems, data and reporting tools effectively to improve visibility of asset performance and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Support consistency and continuous improvement across the portfolio by identifying common trends, documenting lessons learned and assisting with the implementation of agreed improvement actions.
  • Manage allocated work in an organised and disciplined manner, meeting agreed timeframes and maintaining clear and auditable technical records.
PEOPLE
  • Work collaboratively with the National Manager, Facilities Management, Regional Operations Managers, site Facilities Management teams and other Asset Management functions to support effective operational outcomes.
  • Build constructive working relationships with consultants, contractors and service partners while maintaining clear accountability and appropriate escalation.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and proportionately for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About you

You are a professional with at least 2-3 years of engineering experience, preferably in building services, property operations, asset management, facilities engineering or a related environment.

You'll also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, such as mechanical, electrical, building services, mechatronic or another discipline relevant to the operation and performance of commercial property assets.
  • Practical experience working with technical, maintenance, reliability, condition or operational data and using that information to identify issues or support recommendations.
  • Exposure to preparation of technical reports, scopes, briefs, investigations or similar engineering documentation.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and coordinating actions across technical or operational workstreams.
  • Sound engineering fundamentals and an ability to interpret technical information, drawings, reports and asset data within the limits of the role's experience and competency.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise technical documentation and explain findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Competence with Microsoft Excel and standard business systems. Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation and reporting tools is desirable.
