Job summary

Muswellbrook Shire Council is seeking a Technical Officer – Building and Recreation to provide technical advice and manage asset registers for the council’s building and recreation assets. You will work with internal stakeholders and community groups to plan service levels and capital works.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in related fields, a NSW Class C Driver’s Licence, and a White Card. The position offers permanent, full-time employment with competitive salary and benefits

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Building and Construction, Asset Management, Sport or Recreation and/or equivalent, with demonstrated relevant work experience.
• A current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
• White Card General Construction Induction.
• Previous experience in management and maintenance of building and recreation assets (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on asset management for Council’s building and recreation assets to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain asset registers and asset data, including inspections, risk assessments, and scheduling of maintenance and minor capital works.
• Contribute to development and monitoring of asset management plans and levels of service for building and recreation assets.
• Ensure asset works comply with WHS, environmental, quality, and site requirements.
• Provide written correspondence, reports and recommendations for stakeholders and Council meetings.
• Assist in development and monitoring of operational and capital budgets.
• Oversee contractors to ensure works meet contract requirements, budgets and timeframes.
• Respond to after-hours call outs.
