Job summary

Perth Airport Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Asset Management Lead to drive enterprise-wide asset management maturity. You will work with asset owners to translate strategy into practical tools, improve governance, and prioritise renewal and investment decisions across a broad asset portfolio.

Reporting to the General Manager - Infrastructure & Assets, this role emphasises collaboration over direct reporting, requiring influential leadership, robust data interpretation and clear communication

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management, infrastructure or related field.
• Experience leading asset management improvement, framework implementation or organisational change.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new frameworks across diverse teams.
• Practical knowledge of lifecycle planning, maintenance strategy, risk management and performance reporting.

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Asset Management Lead to play a pivotal role in the ongoing evolution of Perth Airport's asset management maturity. Reporting into the General Manager - Infrastructure & Assets, you will lead asset management improvement initiatives and provide enterprise-wide influence across operational, technical and corporate teams, strengthening how asset information, risk, lifecycle needs and investment priorities are understood and managed across the organisation. This is not a traditional people leadership role. With no direct reports, success will come from your ability to influence, collaborate and build alignment across a wide range of stakeholders. You'll work closely with asset owners and custodians to improve decision-making, strengthen governance and embed consistent asset management practices across Perth Airport.

What you'll do:

• Working across operational, technical, and corporate teams, you will translate asset management strategy into practical tools, plans, and ways of working.
• You will help our teams make consistent, evidence-informed decisions that improve asset performance, operational resilience, and long-term value.
• Lead the coordinated delivery of asset management improvement initiatives across framework, governance, information, capability, and reporting.
• Translate the Asset Management Policy and Strategic Asset Management Plan into practical objectives, asset class strategies, asset management plans, decision tools, and supporting documents.
• Steward Perth Airport's Asset Management Framework and maintain a clear connection between organisational objectives, asset planning, and lifecycle decision-making.
• Support asset owners and custodians to make consistent, traceable, and evidence-informed decisions across investment, operations, maintenance, renewal, and project handover.
• Facilitate the development and review of maintenance and lifecycle strategies based on service requirements, criticality, condition, performance, compliance needs, and risk.
• Support teams to define effective inspection, preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance approaches, including renewal triggers and performance measures.
• Coordinate clear portfolio reporting that highlights material asset risks, service impacts, data confidence, treatment progress, and decisions required.
• Bring together asset condition, criticality, performance, failure, and maintenance information to improve lifecycle planning and investment visibility.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops that build shared understanding of asset performance, risk, lifecycle needs, and accountabilities.
• Promote consistent asset management terminology, governance, and ways of working across Perth Airport.
• Provide insights and recommendations that support maintenance, renewal and capital investment prioritisation across the asset portfolio.

About you:

• A tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management, infrastructure or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading asset management improvement, framework implementation, or organisational change within a complex, asset-intensive environment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment and drive adoption of new frameworks or ways of working in environments where direct authority may be limited.
• Practical knowledge of lifecycle planning, maintenance strategy development, asset criticality, condition assessment, risk management, and performance reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex asset information, risks and investment needs into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with enterprise asset management and reporting environments, including ERP or EAM systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and data visualisation tools.
• A strategic mindset combined with the practical ability to convert frameworks and requirements into clear, usable outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trust across operational, technical, and corporate teams.
• A structured and accountable approach, with the ability to coordinate multiple dependencies, maintain momentum and follow through on commitments.
• Sound judgement, adaptability and resilience when working through ambiguity, competing priorities, and organisational change.
• Knowledge of ISO 55000 asset management principles will be highly regarded.
