Job summary

Downer in Canberra is inviting applications to join our permanent workforce as an Asset Data Officer. This role supports Defence capability by managing asset data across our base and estate projects in NSW/ACT, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.

You will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to validate and integrate asset records, align with Defence requirements (e.g., GEMS), and contribute to continuous improvement of data processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in asset data maintenance, administration or database management.
• Qualifications in Business, Engineering, Maintenance or Data Management preferred.
• Strong MS Excel and data validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing, validating, and updating asset register data in accordance with Defence requirements.
• Ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and synchronisation of asset data with Defence systems (e.g., GEMS).
• Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to verify and integrate asset data for estate works, maintenance, and project delivery.
• Providing asset data advice and support to project teams and subcontractors.
• Supporting continuous improvement in asset data management processes and tools.

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

Managing, validating, and updating asset register data in accordance with Defence requirements.

Ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and synchronisation of asset data with Defence systems (e.g., GEMS).

Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to verify and integrate asset data for estate works, maintenance, and project delivery.

Providing asset data advice and support to project teams and subcontractors.

Supporting continuous improvement in asset data management processes and tools.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications or experience in Business, Engineering, Maintenance, or Data Management.

White Card and site access credentials (desirable).

Demonstrated experience in asset data maintenance, administration, or database management.

High competency in Microsoft Excel and data validation tools
