Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking an Accountant to lead the end-to-end fixed asset accounting, oversee capital projects, and ensure robust financial governance and reporting across the organisation.

You will manage asset registers, depreciation, disposals and capitalisation, partnering with project, development and operations teams to improve capital expenditure information and financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in fixed asset accounting, project accounting and capital expenditure management.
• Strong experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end reporting activities.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting standards and audit requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management capability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fixed asset lifecycle including additions, transfers, reclassifications, depreciation and disposals.
• Monitor capital projects and ensure timely capitalisation of completed assets.
• Prepare project spend reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals.
• Partner with project, property and operational stakeholders to improve the quality and timeliness of capital expenditure information.
• Support audit requirements, financial controls, reporting and continuous process improvement initiatives.
