Job summary

Chandler Macleod is assisting Rio Tinto with a Data Engineer role focused on Asset Management & Transformation. The position centers on turning asset management data into actionable insights, developing Power BI dashboards, and applying SQL to support maintenance and reliability improvements.

The role involves collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and aims to enhance asset health and maintenance performance within Iron Ore operations. Central Park, CBD site, 6-month assignment.

Qualifications

• Advanced Power BI reporting and dashboard development skills.
• Strong SQL querying and data analysis experience.
• Experience working with SAP data, ideally within asset management or maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asset management and maintenance datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvements
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
• Extract, transform, and analyse data using SQL
• Work with SAP asset management and maintenance data to support business decision-making
• Support initiatives focused on reducing tool time for fixed plant and mobile equipment maintenance activities
• Analyse inventory and spare parts data to identify wastage reduction opportunities
• Provide insights to improve asset health, equipment reliability, and maintenance effectiveness
• Collaborate with operational, maintenance, and asset management stakeholders to understand business requirements
• Support the delivery of transformation and continuous improvement projects across Iron Ore operations
• Ensure data quality, governance, and reporting standards are maintained
