Job summary

Advanced Navigation is a leading innovator in AI robotics and navigation tech, seeking an Assembly Technician to join the Botany team. You will assemble, calibrate and test electronic and optics assemblies, bonding with adhesives and supporting process development with the Engineering R&D group.

You will also contribute to documentation, inventory control, and routine equipment maintenance, while growing with the company as it evolves in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with high value products in precision manufacturing.
  • 2+ years in electronic and electrical assembly.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and work instructions.
  • Visual and mechanical dexterity for inspecting, handling, cleaning and soldering.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and lab equipment.
  • Focus on high quality, precision and detail.
  • Willingness to learn the products in a specialty industry.
  • Strong communication in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Self-motivation and a positive attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Knowledge of WHS practices.
  • Electronic or optical qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, calibrate and test electronic and optics assemblies.
  • Bond products with adhesives to seal and secure assemblies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering R&D to develop new assembly processes and techniques.
  • Assist with development and documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory and electrical component management.
  • Perform maintenance and service of assembly equipment as needed.
  • Pack semi-finished goods for safe transport and conduct quality inspections.
  • Grow with the Company as Advanced Navigation evolves.

Our production team is accountable for the production, assembly and testing of complex electronics equipment. Being proficient in the assembly of electronic products, our Assembly Technician’s form part of a highly skilled and knowledgeable team of Technicians and Engineers that deliver Advanced Navigation’s industry leading products.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assemble, calibrate and test electronic and optics assemblies

  • Use adhesives to bond and seal products

  • Work closely with the Engineering R&D team to develop new assembly processes and techniques

  • Assist with the development and documentation of processes and procedures

  • Assist with management of inventory and electrical components

  • Perform simple maintenance and service of electrical and optical assembly equipment

  • Pack semi-finished goods for safe transport and process quality inspection of products

  • Growing & developing with the Company as Advanced Navigation continues to evolve;


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • Experience with high value products in a precision assembly or manufacturing environment

  • 2+ years experience in electronic and electrical assembly

  • Ability to read and work with mechanical drawings and work instructions

  • Sufficient visual and mechanical dexterity for inspecting, handling, cleaning and soldering

  • General computer skills - experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, processing software and general lab equipment

  • A focus on high quality, precision and attention to detail

  • A willingness to learn the products in a speciality industry

  • Strong communication skills within a multidisciplinary team environment

  • Self motivation and a positive attitude

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Strong knowledge of WHS practices

  • An electronic or optical qualification or similar
