Job summary

Rheinmetall Defence Australia at MILVEHCOE in Redbank, Queensland, seeks an Assembly Mechanic to complete mechanical build tasks for vehicles and subsystems in first‑run production, following Manufacturing Instructions, drawings and WHS requirements.

You will report to the Assembly Team Lead and work with Mechanics, Electricians and Production Workers in a safety‑driven, collaborative environment at Redbank.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
• Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and contribute as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel interstate or overseas for short training periods (infrequent).
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).

Rheinmetall Defence Australia – Redbank QLD

The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for the completing mechanical build tasks for Vehicles and Subsystems to be built in the RDA production facility - Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. The main scope of this role is to complete the assembly tasks in first-run production in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Engineering Drawings, Quality Standards, and WH&S requirements.

About your new team

This role will report to the Assembly Team Lead and will work alongside a team of Mechanics, Electricians and Production Workers; based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. The Assembly Team forms part of the greater Production team, which includes Painters, Welders, the Prototype Shop, the Armour Shop and the Logistic Systems team.
