Job summary

Gippsland Asphalt is seeking a mechanically minded Fixed Asphalt Plant & Loader Operator to join our team in Traralgon, Victoria. The role involves operating the asphalt plant, feeding materials, and coordinating logistics with haulage teams.

A willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment is essential. Ideal candidates will have plant operator experience in similar production settings, and hold or be willing to obtain Front-End Loader and Forklift licenses.

Qualifications

• Be mechanically minded with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Plant operator experience in production/manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Exposure to quality control or NATA lab testing is a plus.
• Experience in logistics, weighbridge operations or willing to learn.
• Front-End Loader and Forklift licenses are highly desired.
• Strong work ethic with good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt plant and manage production using computer-based system.
• Manage product and aggregate orders and daily truck logistics.
• Operate loader to feed materials and stockpile quarry material.
• Perform general site maintenance and equipment prep.
• Participate in plant shutdowns, mixer rebuilds, and screen changes.
• Report volumes and maintenance daily.
• Adapt to varied hours including night shifts and weekends.
