Job summary

ANJ Paving Pty Ltd is seeking reliable and experienced Asphalt Mobile Plant Operators for full-time permanent roles in Sydney and surrounding regions. You will drive and manage mobile plants, attach tools, monitor operation, perform pre-start checks, and participate in day and night shifts with weekend work possible.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of relevant experience, a Construction Cert II/III, a valid license, and a White Card. Drug and alcohol testing is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of mobile plant operator experience.
• Australian Cert II/III in construction.
• Valid car or truck license.
• Construction Induction White Card (OH&S).
• Ability to work in a team and flexible with start times.
• Willing to work overtime & occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive and manoeuvre mobile plant on site.
• Select and fit attachments to Bobcats, Rollers and Pavers; operate controls.
• Monitor plant operation and movement of materials.
• Perform pre-starts and report faults; minor repairs where needed.
• Work day and night shifts in blocks of one week (paid accordingly).
• Undergo drug & alcohol tests before and during employment.

ANJ Paving Pty Ltd was founded in 2017 and has established a reputation for quality professional service and has developed strong relationships with an extended client base ranging from typical households to numerous Sydney Councils and major infrastructure contractors.

About the role

We are currently seeking reliable, and experienced Asphalt Mobile Plant Operators to work within our existing crew. This role is a full-time permanent role. Full time work includes 40 hours per week with some overtime. Most of our work is day shift, however there may be some night shift work involved occasionally. Separate night shift penalty rates apply above the agreed salary pay. Pay is competitive, above the award rates and dependant on the level of skill and ability you possess.

• Driving & manoeuvring plant on site
• Selecting & fitting correct attachments to various plant such as Bobcats, Rollers & Pavers. Manipulating controls to operate attachments mechanically, hydraulically & electrically and to move materials such as spoil and asphaltic concrete
• Monitoring operation of plant directly
• Monitoring condition of plant through pre-starts and reporting mechanical faults via the company nominated APP Gearbox & performing minor repairs
• Work both day shift & night shift in blocks of one week (paid accordingly)
• Perform and pass a drug & alcohol test prior to employment and undertake random drug & alcohol tests throughout their employment to satisfy various client requirements

• Have a minimum of 1 year of relevant mobile plant operator experience
• Hold an Australian Qualified Certificate 2 or 3 in the construction industry
• Hold a valid car or truck license
• Hold a construction Induction OH&S white card
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Have a flexible attitude towards varied start & finish times
• A willingness to work some overtime & occasional weekend work
• Drive to and from site in a designated work vehicle or truck (if licensing permits)

Specialised mobile plant operators and their skills and abilities required

• Paver Operator Operates paver to spread and level hot bituminous paving materials on the road either for heavy patching or re-sheeting of entire nominated areas. License to operate a Paver in the form of a Verification of Competency (VOC)
• Roller Operator Operates a steel drum roller to prepare surfaces for roads. License to operate a Roller in the form of a Verification of Competency (VOC)
