Ares Management Corporation is seeking a high-calibre investment professional to join the Asia Direct Lending team in Sydney. The Associate will support the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and underwriting to credit analysis, execution, and portfolio monitoring.

This role blends financial modelling with investment judgement, requiring collaboration with senior colleagues, management teams and sponsors. Analysts may be considered for Analyst level depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking or principal investing.
• Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel modelling capability with strong PowerPoint skills.
• Self-motivated, able to operate in a fast-moving, demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed financial and market research to support investment decisions across new credit opportunities.
• Screen and assess new investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain complex Excel financial models, including cash flow analysis, debt sizing and structuring.
• Prepare and present investment committee materials.
• Prepare presentations and pitches for internal and external use.
• Analyse portfolio performance and update valuations and forecasts.
• Assist with negotiating and preparing legal documentation and investment closings.
• Meet with management teams and sponsors in connection with new opportunities.
