Job summary

Bangalow Bread Co. in Bangalow, NSW, is seeking a bakery team member to bake daily sourdough, pastries and other items in a small independent environment. You will contribute to a culture of quality and craft, with room to grow your skills and work closely with a devoted team.

The role involves scaling and mixing doughs, hand shaping, and upholding food safety during a 4-day week, with early starts (2 x 5am and 2 x 2am) to support the bakery’s daily production.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen with commercial equipment.
• Genuine passion for sourdough bread, pastries and cake.
• Experience creating artisan breads—mixing, moulding and baking.
• Experience in pastry—laminating, proofing, baking.
• Strong attention to detail, efficiency and proactive work ethic.
• A team player comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Flexible thinker who enjoys a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Baking the daily production of sourdough bread.
• Baking pastries, pies, quiche, and decorating of other bakery items.
• Scaling and mixing of doughs, hand shaping of doughs.
• Uphold food safety and sanitation standards.
