Carey Baptist Grammar School in Melbourne is seeking an organised Art Technician to join the Art & Design team. The role focuses on administrative, organisational and technical support across the department, managing materials and spaces, and assisting staff and students with practical and technical aspects of the curriculum.

The position is 0.8 FTE (4 days per week), a 12-month fixed-term role starting in Term 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience in arts, education, gallery, museum or studio environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Comfort with a range of art materials and technologies.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety.

Responsabilités

• Managing and maintaining art materials, equipment and departmental resources.
• Coordinating purchasing, inventory management and supplier relationships.
• Preparing and maintaining art studios, specialist learning spaces and storerooms.
• Supporting the safe use, storage and maintenance of equipment, tools and materials.
• Assisting with the preparation and installation of exhibitions, displays and community events.
• Providing technical support to staff and students across a range of artistic disciplines.
• Supporting VCE students with the presentation and exhibition of final artworks.
