Job summary

The Salvation Army Salvos Stores in Bendigo is seeking an Area Manager to lead a network of stores across VIC North/ACT, based at Whip Court Salvos Store, Bendigo. You will drive performance, coach staff and volunteers, and foster a strong community-focused retail operation.

You will partner with the Regional Manager to achieve KPIs, uphold merchandising standards, and advance safety and service while delivering social impact across the region.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple retail sites.
• Excellent people leadership and communication skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in business reporting.
• Hands-on approach with a focus on community impact.
• Diploma in Retail, Business or Management desirable.
• Valid driver’s licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspire, coach, and develop Store Managers, staff, and volunteers.
• Collaborate with Regional Manager to align area performance with national strategy.
• Lead area to meet KPIs: sales, surplus, safety, and service, including eCommerce goals.
• Champion operational excellence, merchandising standards, and safety culture.
• Analyze business reports to drive commercial and social results.
• Manage new store openings, refurbishments, and store transitions.
• Recruit and retain volunteers and employees across locations.
