Job summary

Active Tree Services is seeking an experienced Arborist to join a long-term City of Sydney contract. You will support pruning, maintenance and removal across parks, streets and public spaces, working on-site daily with a hands-on crew.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Arboriculture or Horticulture, White Card and a valid licence. MR/HR is highly regarded. Strong safety focus and teamwork are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Arboriculture or Horticulture required or in progress.
• White Card and a current manual driver's licence (MR/HR highly regarded).
• Exposure to arboriculture, vegetation management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day tree maintenance, pruning and removal works.
• Assist with job preparation, site setup, equipment checks and tidy-up.
• Work safely and collaboratively within a hands-on crew.
• Maintain equipment, vehicles and site requirements daily.
• Communicate clearly with crew, supervisors and operations leaders.

Active Tree Services is looking for an experienced Arborist to join our long-term City of Sydney contract, supporting essential tree maintenance works across the city.

From streetscapes and parks to busy public spaces, this role will see you out on site each day supporting pruning, maintenance and removal works that help keep Sydney safe, green and looking its best.

The Role:

As an Arborist, you'll support the delivery of day-to-day tree maintenance, pruning and removal works as part of a hands-on crew. You'll be involved in job preparation, site setup, equipment checks and general tree work activities, helping make sure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Your work will include:

• Working as part of a hands-on tree crew across the City of Sydney contract
• Supporting daily tree maintenance activities across parks, streets and public spaces
• Supporting pruning, tree maintenance and tree removal works
• Assisting with job preparation, site setup, equipment checks and tidy-up
• Communicating clearly with crew members, supervisors and operations leaders
• Helping care for equipment, vehicles, materials and site requirements each day
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork, quality and customer outcomes

What you'll bring:

• Current driver's licence (MR/HR highly regarded)
• Certificate III in Arboriculture or Horticulture (however AQF2, or persons currently enrolled in either qualification will be considered)
• White Card
• Previous exposure to arboriculture, vegetation management, grounds maintenance or a similar field-based environment
• A positive, reliable attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Strong understanding of site safety and quality standards
• Ability to follow instructions, work safely and manage physical outdoor tasks

Great, but not essential:

• Relevant chainsaw, EWP or plant operation tickets
• Previous exposure to local council or streetscape projects
• First Aid / CPR
