Job summary

Talent International is recruiting an APS6 Technical Advisory for a Federal Government client in Parramatta. The role is a 12-month contract offering $60.26 per hour plus super.

The position follows a 7.6-hour day (38 hours per week) framework, with possible extension depending on needs. The role requires clinical and technical advisory expertise to support informed participant outcomes, including interpreting legislation and contributing to policy development.

Qualifications

• You must hold a relevant degree or diploma in one of the listed health disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret legislation and policy and provide guidance on complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise through coaching and mentoring to support participant outcomes.
• Manage sensitive conversations and situations relating to funding approvals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support consistent decision-making and outcomes.
• Provide high-quality written and telephone advice and maintain accurate records.
• Apply professional judgement to interpret legislation, policy and procedures.

Job description

Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS6 Technical Advisory to work for one of our Federal Government clients at Parramatta.

The position is a 12 months contract with the possibility of extension. The role pays $60.26 per hour + Super.

7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week.

About The Role

You will provide specialist clinical and technical advice to support informed decision-making and positive outcomes for participants of the client. Applying your health or allied health expertise, you will advise on appropriate participant supports, interpret legislation and policy, and provide guidance on complex matters. The role may also involve team leadership, workflow coordination and contributions to strategic planning, projects and policy development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise through coaching and mentoring, advising on appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes.

• Work with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to support consistent decision-making and outcomes.
• Provide high-quality written and telephone advice, maintaining accurate records.
• Apply professional judgement to interpret legislation, policy and procedures when addressing complex matters.
• Support team priorities and workflows, providing guidance to colleagues as required.

Specific responsibilities may change in line with business priorities.

Required Qualifications

You must hold a relevant degree, advanced diploma or other diploma qualification in one of the following disciplines:

• Occupational Therapy
• Prosthetics and Orthotics
• Speech Pathology
• Physiotherapy
• Psychology
• Registered Nursing – must be eligible for AHPRA registration
• Social Work
• Mental Health Practice
• Specialist Behaviour Support Practice
• Medico-Legal Allied Health
• Audiology

• Demonstrated clinical experience.
• Experience providing high-quality health or allied health clinical and technical expertise at both individual and systemic levels.
• Experience providing professional leadership, mentoring and guidance to support consistent, high-quality advisory practices.
