APS6Strategic Communications Officer

Duration: 9 month initial contract

Our federal government client is seeking an experienced communications professional to support the planning, development and delivery of communication, stakeholder engagement and public relations activities. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will contribute to a variety of projects by developing clear, engaging and accessible communications that support organisational priorities and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of communication and public relations projects, ensuring activities are completed on time and achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop and deliver communication materials across a range of channels, including digital platforms, social media, presentations, publications and event resources.
- Create and quality assure visual communication products, including graphics, infographics and presentations.
- Provide communications advice and support to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Coordinate communication initiatives, events and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Prepare communication plans, briefing materials, reports and other supporting documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate communication activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain communication resources, content calendars, style guides and digital assets.
- Liaise with external suppliers and service providers as required.
About You:
- Experience delivering communication, stakeholder engagement or public relations activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing content across multiple communication channels.
- The ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging and audience-focused content.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Experience building productive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience preparing communication plans, briefings and reports.
Desirable
- Experience supporting large-scale projects, programs or organisational initiatives.
- Knowledge of digital communications, content management and stakeholder engagement best practices.
- Experience producing visual communication materials and working with external creative providers.
