Your new role Joining the External Communications team, you'll be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating strategic communication and campaign activities that support major organisational priorities. Partner with subject-matter experts and business leaders to develop communication strategies that help Australians better understand important services, products and initiatives. Plan and deliver integrated communication and public awareness campaigns, identifying key audiences, developing messaging and selecting the most effective communication channels. Transform complex technical and scientific information into clear, engaging and accessible content for public and stakeholder audiences. Produce a range of communications materials including web content, digital campaigns, social media assets, stakeholder communications and promotional collateral. Act as a trusted communications advisor, providing strategic guidance to stakeholders and ensuring communication activities align with organisational objectives. Work across multiple projects and stakeholders to deliver high-quality communications outcomes within tight timeframes. Monitor campaign performance, evaluate results and provide insights that inform future communication and engagement activities.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience working within the APS or broader government environment will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering communication, engagement or marketing campaigns from planning through to execution and evaluation.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and experience in basic visual assets development.
  • Experience developing digital content, including web and social media tiles.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex or technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
