Australian Department of Defence – Canberra ACT is seeking an ICT Technical Assurance Manager to lead ERP sustainment and ensure high-quality SAP solutions across a complex defence landscape.

You will drive design assurance, engage stakeholders at all levels, and shape service delivery to meet operational requirements and standards. The role offers autonomy, strategic impact, and opportunities to lead continuous improvement within ESO EFIT and related ERP functions.

Qualifications

• Experience in SAP/ERP across multiple functional domains (e.g., Supply Chain, HR, Finance)
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (Azure/SAP)
• Proven record of leading technology professionals and influencing managers
• Ability to develop treatment plans and mitigation strategies
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities

The Role

Joining the ERP Support Organisation (ESO) as ICT Technical Assurance Manager offers a rare chance to be at the forefront of one of Defence’s most significant transformation initiatives. This role places you in a dynamic environment where your operational expertise will directly ensure critical ERP sustainment services across a complex and evolving landscape. The ESO is seeking a Technical resource r to work within an integrated team to plan and deliver reliable ERP Sustainment that meet Operational requirements and are to the required standard.

You will be part of a high-performing and energised team, driving innovation and continuous improvement, contributing to strategic decision-making, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, with an opportunity to shape service delivery outcomes that impact Defence’s capabilities.

As the Technical Assurance Manager, you will provide assurance to the ERP delivery and continuous improvement of systems, drawing on your deep knowledge of SAP. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure digital services meet business and user needs by performing design assurance and validation of the solutions proposed by ERP System Integrators.

• Contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.

About our Team

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a key enabler of the One Defence reform agenda. ERP will standardise and integrate critical functions needed into a single SAP platform delivering a major capability uplift for Defence.

The ERP Support Organisation (ESO) with Defence Digital Group (DDG) is responsible for the coordination of ERP sustainment services across legacy applications and SAP capabilities.

This role is embedded within ESO EFIT (ERP functional Integration and Technology) which is responsible for ERP Platform and Functional Integration Management and Security Operations.
