Job summary

face2face Recruitment is seeking APS 5 and APS 6 Compliance Officers for a federal government client based in Canberra (with a second location in Melbourne). APS 5 roles involve supporting disclosure reviews, assessing funding claims and assisting with payments, under general supervision; APS 6 roles involve leading complex assessments, coordinating funding payments and guiding junior staff.

Existing baseline security clearance is mandatory for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial audit, compliance, assurance, quality checking or similar structured work with independence and leadership at APS 6.
• Qualifications or relevant experience in accounting, commerce, finance or related field are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex information and assess risks.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within legislative and procedural requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Review financial disclosure returns for accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements.
• Assess election funding claims and undertake related compliance reviews and enquiries.
• Support or coordinate the accurate processing and payment of election funding, depending on classification.
• Analyse financial and regulatory information, identify potential issues and provide well-reasoned advice.
• At APS 6, lead information collection and analysis to identify potential non-compliance, including risks of foreign influence through financial contributions.
• At APS 6, provide guidance and support to junior staff, building capability and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

About the Role

Our Federal Government client is seeking curious, analytical and detail-oriented APS 5 Compliance Officers and APS 6 Senior Compliance Officers to join an expanding regulatory team in Canberra.

At APS 5, you will work under general supervision, supporting disclosure reviews, assessing funding claims and assisting with payment processing.

At APS 6, you will work under limited direction, independently undertake complex assessments, coordinate funding payments and provide guidance to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
