Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice to assist Workshop Technicians in the Melbourne workshop. The role covers pre-delivery of machines, service and repairs to Elevating Work Platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers.

You will learn to evaluate performance, inspect for specifications, and assist with install, test, repair and maintenance tasks. The program runs over four years with on‑the‑job and block theory training with a registered training organisation.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
• Good listening skills and ability to follow instruction
• Mature, reliable and able to work independently or in a team

Responsibilities

• Learning about and assisting with machine performance evaluation
• Inspecting designs and finished products for specifications
• Assisting with installation, testing, repair and modification of hydraulic/electronic equipment
• Conducting pre-delivery inspections and assessing machines for good working order
• Assisting with repairs and maintenance of elevating work platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers
• General workshop duties including cleaning and tidying
• Adhering to Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental policies
• Completing paperwork and inspection forms per ANZ standards and site requirements
• Assisting with routine inspections of machines per standards
• Performing sanding, painting and general trade assistant duties as required
• Carrying out other duties as required
