Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining industrial refrigeration equipment
• Working on ammonia refrigeration systems
• Working on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps and associated equipment
• Fault finding and breakdown repairs
• Preventative maintenance
• Working on cool rooms, freezers and process cooling systems
• Basic electrical fault finding and controls
• Installation and commissioning of refrigeration equipment
• Learning to read refrigeration, electrical and control drawings
• Working safely around large industrial refrigeration plants

About the role

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced refrigeration mechanics and gradually develop the skills required to become a qualified refrigeration mechanic.

Your work will include:
