Job description

APPRENTICE PLUMBER/ROOFER: 1ST, 2ND, 3RD YEAR

Scotland Marshall Plumbing – Melbourne VIC

Plumbing Apprentice: Roofing and General Plumbing | Melbourne

Read this before you apply. This job isn’t for everyone, and we’d rather you found that out now.

Scotland Marshall Plumbing does high-end residential plumbing and roofing across Melbourne. We’re a young, fast-moving crew that takes pride in the work, and we’re looking for an apprentice who wants to be properly good at this trade.

This job isn’t for you if:

You don’t want to be on site at 6:50am with your tools out, ready to start at 7:00.

You’re not keen on working until 3:30pm.

You’re not interested in overtime. When the job needs it, we ask for it, and we pay double time for it.

You only want to learn one corner of the trade. You’ll learn all of it: roughing in, fit-off, drainage, gas and roof plumbing.

You don’t want to climb onto a roof. A big part of what we do is roofing, and you’ll be up there learning it.

You’re not keen on working with a group of young guys, making new mates and building a crew you’d back.

You don’t care about systems. We run on process, not guesswork.

You’re not interested in technology. We use apps every day and we’re building AI into how we work, and you’ll be expected to use it.

You’re not motivated to push yourself, and the people around you, to be better.

This job is for you if:

You turn up early, work hard and finish what you start.

You want to learn the whole trade, not just the easy bits.

You’re curious, you ask good questions, and you pick up new tools and tech quickly.

You want to be part of a crew that holds each other to a high standard and has a good time doing it.

What you’ll need:

A current white card

What you’ll get:
A real apprenticeship with a company that invests in its people, a team that will teach you properly, double time for overtime, and the chance to build a serious career in plumbing and roofing.

Timing:
We’re looking to start someone this year and carry them through into next year. We’re not shutting down over Christmas. We’ll run a skeleton crew through late December and we’re back full time on 4 January. Being available over that period is a bonus, so tell us if you are.
