Isaac Regional Council in Moranbah is offering an Apprentice Plumber role that combines hands‑on training with formal trade qualification. You’ll work in the Water and Waste team, learning from experienced tradespeople while contributing to essential water and sewerage projects.

This fixed‑term four‑year apprenticeship provides real projects, not just classroom learning. Starting in 2027, the schedule is full‑time, 76 hours per fortnight, with a rate of 27.81 AUD per hour and a 9‑day fortnight.

About the role

As an Apprentice Plumber, you'll become part of our Water and Waste team in Moranbah, learning the ropes alongside experienced tradespeople who will help you develop your skills and confidence. This isn't your typical classroom experience! You'll get stuck into real projects, gain valuable hands‑on experience and learn what it takes to keep essential water and wastewater services running across our communities, all while completing your formal trade training.

Your apprenticeship will see you:

• Get hands‑on experience assisting with plumbing, water and sewerage works.
• Learn how to maintain and repair water and wastewater networks.
• Assist with domestic plumbing, scheduled maintenance and water meter readings.
• Work alongside qualified tradespeople who will guide and support your development.
• Work towards completing the qualifications, certifications and licences required for your trade.

Type: Fixed Term - 4 year Apprenticeship
Hours: Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
Rate: $27.81 per hour
Roster: Monday to Friday, 9-day fortnight (hello long weekends!)

Previous experience in plumbing or knowledge of water and sewerage systems would be a bonus, but what matters most is your enthusiasm, reliability and willingness to learn!
