Job summary

Rex Plumbing in Melbourne's North is offering a Plumbing Apprentice position to start a career in the trade. No prior experience required; you'll learn from experienced, qualified plumbers while supporting residential and commercial projects.

You’ll attend TAFE/RTO training as part of the apprenticeship, develop job notes, follow safety regulations, and grow into a skilled tradesperson. The role suits a school leaver or someone transitioning careers, with long-term employment upon completion.

Qualifications

• Interest in plumbing and willingness to learn.
• Enrolled or eligible for Certificate III in Plumbing.
• Current driving licence.
• Able to obtain Police and Working with Children Checks.
• Commitment to safety and OH&S regulations.
• Good written job notes.

Responsibilities

Rex Plumbing offers a comprehensive range of plumbing services in both residential and commercial fields with clients across Government, Aged Care & Retirement Living, Healthcare and Education sectors.

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a motivated Plumbing Apprentice to join our team and kick-start a career in the trade. This role would suit a school leaver, or someone looking for a change, who is keen to learn from experienced, qualified plumbers.

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team who are hardworking, highly motivated and enjoy a laugh along the way.

Based in North Melbourne, we service clients across all of Melbourne.

About You:

• No prior experience necessary. Just a genuine interest in a career in plumbing and a strong work ethic
• Willing to attend TAFE/RTO training as part of your apprenticeship and apply what you learn on the job
• A problem solver. You show initiative in solving problems the right way, not the easy way!
• Someone who doesn’t mind their own company. Can work autonomously as well as part of a team
• Professional and well presented, with great communication skills
• Will focus on being safe every day in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Good with words. You are able to write clear and concise job notes
• Reliable, punctual and eager to learn from experienced tradespeople

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in, or eligible to enrol in, a Certificate III in Plumbing
• Current or willing to obtain a red/white card
• Current driving license
• Able to obtain Police and Working with Children (Employee) Checks
• Structured on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced, qualified plumbers
• A clear pathway and support to complete your Certificate III in Plumbing
