Job summary

Alphacool is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice HVAC-R Technician to assist tradesmen with installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and servicing of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in Cairns, Queensland.

You will gain practical experience on a range of HVAC-R systems, learn to diagnose faults, and participate in safety compliant servicing activities while progressing toward RTO training competencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical coursework is a plus.
• QLD Driver’s licence.
• General Construction Induction (White Card).
• Working at Heights.
• CPR & LVR.
• ARCTIC licence (Trainee).

Responsibilities

• Assist tradesmen with installation, maintenance, testing and servicing of HVAC-R systems.
• Assist in attending breakdowns and fault finding.
• Assist in preventative maintenance and repair services.
• Review recently serviced equipment and ensure performance is appropriate.
• Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on HVAC-R systems.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions effectively.
• Assist with providing service reports to clients/customers.
• Document service performed and maintain accurate records of tasks completed.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians, technical employees and customers.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Must work toward achieving the competencies set out in RTO Training Plan.

Alphacool is seeking an enthusiastic and hands on Apprentice HVAC-R Technician, to provide assistance and learn from the HVAC-R tradesmen with installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and servicing of equipment, systems, and hardware related to all aspects of the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assist tradesmen with the install, maintenance, testing and servicing a large range of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems in accordance with Best Practice and Australian Standards
• Assist in attending breakdowns and fault finds
• Assist in conducting preventative maintenance and repair services
• Assist in reviewing recently serviced equipment and ensure performance is appropriate
• Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on HVAC-R systems
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions effectively
