D&T Hydraulics & Engineering in Mackay is offering a first-year apprenticeship in 2027 to learn on the job while earning a wage. You will rotate through departments and work toward a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner) with guidance from experienced tradespersons in a modern workshop.

The program provides a first-year rate of $23.69 per hour plus penalties, structured on-the-job training, forklift licensing opportunities, generous overtime, and a town-based role

Qualifications

• Completed Year 10 with strong math results.
• Sound results in manual arts & technical drawing.
• Interest in STEM for future career progression.
• Willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsabilités

• Rotate through departments to gain exposure across operations.
• Learn on-the-job with mentoring from experienced tradespersons.
• Attend aptitude tests as part of the recruitment process.
