Job summary

WPC Group is offering a 4-year full-time Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship as a Fitter & Turner in Australia. You will gain hands-on industry experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering - Fitter & Turner.

The role includes training in diagnosing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical systems, interpreting drawings, and performing precision fitting and maintenance tasks with mentoring from experienced tradespeople.

Qualifications

• Interest in mechanical systems and engineering principles.
• Strong attention to detail and aim for high-quality work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and honest with a positive attitude.
• Physical fitness to meet the role's demands.
• Certificate II in Engineering is highly regarded.
• Current driver''s licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
• Current White Card or willingness to obtain before starting.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and machining processes.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Fit, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical seals and workshop components.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing on equipment.
• Inspect components to identify faults and opportunities for improvement.
• Set up and operate hand tools, machine tools, welding equipment, and CNC machinery.
• Ensure precision and quality across parts and subassemblies.
• Work safely and in accordance with industry standards.
