Job summary

Visy in Wodonga is seeking an Apprentice Fitter to join our maintenance team. This full-time fixed-term role operates a day shift from 7am to 3pm with overtime available, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

You’ll contribute to keeping our board plant running smoothly and safely while you train with qualified Fitters. Open to apprentices at all levels, we’ll support your TAFE coursework, hands-on machining and welding tasks, and safety compliance as part of our continuous improvement culture

Qualifications

• Open to apprentices at all levels including 1st to 4th year.
• Willingness to learn and attend TAFE coursework.
• Interest in manual machining and welding tasks.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Work under qualified Fitters to perform routine maintenance.
• Complete manual machining and welding as part of preventative maintenance.
• Attend TAFE coursework to complete apprenticeship requirements.
• Maintain safety standards and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
