Job summary

dnata Catering & Retail invites aspiring cooks to begin an Apprentice Chef journey across Australia, earning while learning with MEGT. You’ll train under experienced chefs, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and grow in one of the country’s leading inflight catering businesses.

You’ll learn on the job in a fast-paced kitchen, develop techniques, and complete your apprenticeship through TAFE while contributing to a diverse team and building a long-term hospitality career.

What you'll be doing

As an Apprentice Chef, you'll work alongside experienced culinary professionals to:

• Prepare fresh, high-quality meals for some of the world's leading airlines.
• Learn commercial cookery techniques in a fast-paced production environment.
• Develop food preparation, presentation and kitchen management skills.
• Maintain the highest food safety and hygiene standards.
• Work as part of a supportive and diverse team while completing your apprenticeship through TAFE.

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and ready to build a long-term career in hospitality.

To be successful, you'll have:

• A genuine passion for cooking and the hospitality industry.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and rotating rosters when required.
• Reliable transport to travel to work and TAFE.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• The ability to obtain a clear National Police Check.
• Certificate I or II in Hospitality (desirable but not essential).
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience (desirable but not essential).
