Job summary

Applications Engineer – Water Technologies

Bermad Water Technologies (Australia) is the leading supplier of water technologies, custom-designed to meet clients’ requirements e.g. water flow control valves, data-recording & measuring meters, as well as fire protection and safety assemblies. Sustained demand has opened up an excellent opportunity for an additional, self-sufficient engineer, technician or tradesperson with related civil, hydraulic or water experience to provide a technical and quotation capability from initial enquiry through to quote handover and order execution. Location: Thomastown.

Reporting to the Engineering and Planning Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for resolving technical enquiries and the design, validation and costing of technical solutions as per RFQs. Product configuration incorporates SKUs, BOMs and release drawings to support quotations, production, quality control and order handover. Effective coordination of inputs from Operations, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchasing and Bermad HQ is matched by engaging with end users in sectors such as waterworks, irrigation, building services, fire protection, mining or infrastructure.

Demonstrated water industry experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, estimating, quotation development or engineered product selection is required. Commercial nous in creating product configurations, interpreting RFQs, signing off on quote packages and determining delivery schedules is a complementary attribute to well-developed technical problem-solving capability. Capacity to work independently and occasionally off-site, is critical.
