Job summary

Showtime Consulting is seeking up to three Application / Systems Engineers to join a Defence-focused team delivering critical systems, applications and infrastructure platforms across Australia. You will work with engineering, project, and operations teams to sustain Defence capabilities and ensure mission-critical outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring broad technical exposure across systems administration, application support, and integration, with strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications

• NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance (minimum).
• NV2 Australian Government Security Clearance highly regarded.
• Experience in systems engineering, application support, or related technical roles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience across application, infrastructure, and integration environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Experience supporting mission-critical or highly secure environments.
• Defence experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of Defence applications and systems.
• Perform systems administration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across diverse technology environments.
• Assist with systems integration activities between applications, services, and infrastructure components.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health.
• Investigate and resolve technical incidents, outages, and service issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, project teams, and stakeholders to deliver technical outcomes.
• Assist with upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and environment improvements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and operational artefacts.
• Support testing, validation, and deployment activities across project and operational environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, security, and performance.

As part of our continued growth within the National Security and Defence sector, we are seeking multiple Application / Systems Engineers to support the delivery, integration, maintenance, and optimisation of complex Defence technology environments.

The Role

We are seeking up to three Application / Systems Engineers to join a collaborative and high-performing Defence team supporting critical systems, applications, and infrastructure platforms.

This role is ideal for technically versatile engineers who are comfortable working across applications, systems, integrations, infrastructure, and troubleshooting activities. You will work closely with engineering, project, and operational teams to support the delivery and sustainment of Defence capabilities.

The successful candidate will bring a broad technical background, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience working across multiple technology domains within complex enterprise or government environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of Defence applications and systems.

What You’ll Need
