Michael Page is recruiting for a senior APAC Tax Lead role in Perth, Australia. The successful candidate will manage APAC tax compliance, prepare quarterly reports, and oversee tax accounting under IFRS while advising senior management and liaising with tax authorities and external advisors.

The role requires a strong tax compliance background in business services or mining, with leadership experience and a relevant degree. Australia-based, with APAC exposure and regional travel prospects.

Qualifications

• Strong background in tax compliance and planning within the business services/mining sector.
• Expert knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related field; professional CA/CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing APAC tax compliance obligations including income tax, GST, withholding tax and related filings.
• Preparing quarterly tax reporting and updates for management and key stakeholders.
• Managing tax effect accounting and deferred tax calculations in accordance with IFRS.
• Providing timely and commercially focused tax advice across the business.
• Responding to and managing enquiries from tax authorities and supporting tax audits.
• Liaising with external tax advisors, auditors and regional finance teams.
• Maintaining and enhancing internal controls, including SOX compliance.
