Klarna seeks a Legal Counsel for its APAC legal team, based in Sydney or Melbourne, reporting to the Legal Director, APAC. You will manage licensing and regulatory work, commercial contracts, and ASIC filings, collaborating across legal, commercial, product, compliance and marketing teams in APAC.

The role requires Australian admission and 4+ years post‑qualification, with exposure to regulated payments and consumer law; governance basics and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• This role requires admission as a lawyer in Australia and 4+ years of post‑qualification experience in law.
• Experience in corporate/commercial law; regulatory, consumer or financial services exposure is a plus.
• Curiosity about regulated payments and shopping business and ability to explain legal points clearly.

Responsabilités

• Support licensing and regulatory work for Klarna's Australian and New Zealand businesses.
• Advise on day‑to‑day commercial questions, partnerships, marketing arrangements, subsidies and incentives.
• Draft, review and negotiate merchant, partner, vendor and services contracts.
• Support ASIC filings, company secretarial tasks, and maintain registers and resolutions.
• Collaborate with the APAC legal team and escalate to the Legal Director, APAC when needed.
