Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeller to lead high-impact groundwater modelling projects across the APAC region, working with experts in hydrogeology, geotechnics and water professionals.

You will guide complex modelling studies, collaborate across Water, Resources and Infrastructure, and mentor the next generation of groundwater professionals while advancing the regional modelling capability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Hydrogeology is required.
• 10+ years' experience in numerical groundwater modelling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong experience delivering complex groundwater modelling projects.
• Expertise with numerical groundwater flow models such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW and related modelling tools.
• Programming skills for modelling automation, ideally using Python (FloPy).
• Experience with model calibration, uncertainty assessment and PEST-based workflows.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capability.
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of groundwater modelling projects with senior support.
• Deliver integrated surface water and groundwater modelling studies.
• Apply advanced numerical modelling techniques to address complex issues.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Water, Resources, Transport, Geotechnics and Contaminated Land.
• Manage projects from proposal through to delivery with quality outcomes.
• Mentor and develop the next generation of groundwater professionals.
• Build trusted client relationships and support business development in the region.
• Develop technical capabilities through learning and mentoring programs.
• Contribute to growth and leadership of GHD's groundwater modelling capability.
