Job summary

Swan Hill District Health in Victoria invites applications for a part-time Non-Resi AOD withdrawal nurse to join our Counselling Services team. The role focuses on assessment, education and referrals to support clients reducing harms from alcohol and other drugs, in a safe environment.

Registered nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA and Cert IV in AOD (or core competencies) are preferred, with excellent communication and teamwork skills for a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain.
• NDIS worker screening check or willingness to obtain.
• Immunisation records/history as part of Health Services Act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients in a counselling setting and provide a safe environment for withdrawal or reduction of harms.
• Provide education, support and referrals for clients seeking help with AOD use.
• Engage with clients and families within a multidisciplinary team to plan care.
