Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an AOD Intake & ThroughCare Nurse for the Geelong Withdrawal Unit in Corio, VIC. This fixed-term, part-time role involves guiding participants from referral through withdrawal and ongoing care in a multidisciplinary team.

Reporting to the Nurse Team Leader, you will deliver person-centred clinical support, assess health needs, and promote continuity of care to improve outcomes for people experiencing AOD and mental health challenges.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree or equivalent in Nursing.
• AHPRA DIV 1 registration with unrestricted practice.
• Experience in clinical AOD nursing, withdrawal management, and relapse prevention.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable.
• Current Employee Working with Children Check.
• Current VIC Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred clinical nursing support throughout the treatment journey.
• Assess medical and mental health needs and escalate as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and review care plans.
• Deliver health education and facilitate therapeutic groups.
• Establish partnerships with hospitals, GPs and community services for coordinated care.
• Support flexible clinical operations to meet unit needs.
