Job summary

Mildura Base Public Hospital's Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service invites an Alcohol & Other Drugs Clinician to join a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist assessment, treatment and support for people with substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. The role spans hospital, community and specialist AOD settings.

You will apply evidence-based approaches, collaborate with families and external services, and participate in flexible service delivery, including outreach.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience with substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for SUDs.
• Familiarity with harm reduction, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches.
• Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team and with stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and rapport-building.
• Ability to collect data and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive assessments and treatment interventions for consumers with substance use disorders.
• Support individuals with co-occurring mental health and AOD concerns in a shared-care model.
• Coordinate care across hospital, community and specialist AOD services within The Local.
• Apply contemporary evidence-based approaches to treatment and relapse prevention.
• Collaborate with consumers, carers and external providers to achieve positive outcomes.
• Participate in flexible service delivery, including outreach and home-based support.
