Job summary

Danone ANZ is seeking an ANZ Category Buyer Packaging to join our Cycles & Procurement team in Sydney on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will drive the Dairy Packaging strategy across Australia and New Zealand, lead negotiations and support sourcing and productivity initiatives.

You will partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams, maintain SAP pricing and agreements, and contribute to dual‑sourcing and project delivery while upholding Danone's standards and DOA policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Management.
• Five years procurement experience, FMCG/packaging.
• Experience with packaging sourcing and supplier management.
• Ability to draft, review and negotiate supply contracts.
• Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; SAP or MRP systems.
• Cross-functional project management experience.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for ANZ Category Buyer Packaging to join our Cycles & Procurement team in Sydney on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the ANZ Category Manager Raws & Packs, you will help drive the Dairy Packaging strategy across Australia and New Zealand. You will lead packaging contract negotiations, support sourcing and productivity projects, partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and maintain accurate pricing and agreement information in SAP.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, execute and support the Dairy Packaging category strategy.
• Lead packaging contract negotiations and manage contracts, tracking and approvals in line with the Global DOA Policy.
• Make supplier decisions with consideration for liability and risk, payment terms, price, quality and delivery performance.
• Initiate, lead and implement local dual-sourcing and productivity projects.
• Provide packaging workstream support for Innovation and Renovation projects, following the Danone F4G project management process.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with packaging suppliers and lead regular supplier reviews.
• Prepare monthly supplier performance and project reports, material price lists and rolling forecast price files.
• Maintain SAP outline agreements with current pricing and validity dates.
• Collaborate across Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal, Project Management, Regional Specification and Global Cycles & Procurement.

You are a commercially minded procurement professional with strong packaging sourcing and supplier management experience. You bring analytical thinking, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to negotiations, projects and stakeholder relationships.

Ideally, you will have:

• A bachelor's degree in Business or Management.
• Five years of procurement experience, ideally within FMCG, food, dairy or pharmaceutical packaging.
• Strong experience in packaging sourcing and supplier management.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional project management.
• The ability to draft, review and negotiate supply contracts.
• Strong relationship management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical capability, with good planning and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, plus experience using SAP or MRP systems.
• Project management experience, preferred but not essential.
