Fraser Coast Regional Council – Hervey Bay QLD is seeking two Animal Facilities Officers to support the Animal Facility and Adoption Centre in Hervey Bay. Responsibilities include caring for animals, maintaining housing, feeding, enrichment, and assessments for adoption or rescue.

Roles include 1x Permanent Full Time and 1x Temporary Full Time until 06 August 2027. Salary range $76,729 to $83,245 plus superannuation, with a 9-day fortnight.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in animal welfare, handling and caring for animals.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, volunteers, the public and community groups.
• Ability to problem solve and attention to detail.

Aufgaben

• Maintaining and cleaning of animal housing, and disposal of solid wastes.
• Daily feeding & watering of all animals and provide regular enrichment to all animals.
• Ensure that animals are accommodated in accordance with industry best practice.
• Ensure animal housing signs are accurate including identification of animal temperament, medical status, etc.
• Conduct suitability assessments - including temperament, behaviour, age, and health - of all animals being considered for rehoming or rescue.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a proactive individual to support the Animal Facility and Adoption Centre.

In this role you will ensure animal housing is maintained to a high standard and the care and welfare for all animals entering the facility is provided in a timely and efficient manner, within a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

What your day will look like:

• Maintaining and cleaning of animal housing, and disposal of solid wastes.
• Daily feeding & watering of all animals and provide regular enrichment to all animals.

• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under general supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt to changing working environments, technology, work priorities or organisational needs

What’s nice to have:

• Animal facilities experience or similar
• Authorised implanter (microchipping) qualification
• Certificate 3 (AQF Level 3 or above) in Animal Studies or Veterinary Nursing qualification
