Job summary

North Shore Veterinary Hospital in Artarmon is seeking a compassionate Driver to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will transport veterinary patients between referring clinics and our specialist emergency hospital, while also supporting the clinical team as an Animal Attendant or Veterinary Nurse based on experience.

This role is more than driving; you’ll help ensure animals are transported safely, calmly and comfortably, supporting patient care, communication and seamless handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary, animal care, animal handling or healthcare environment is highly regarded.
• Veterinary nursing qualifications or experience are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients between veterinary clinics and our hospital.
• Assist with patient handling, loading and unloading.
• Monitor patient comfort and welfare during transport.
• Work closely with veterinary nurses, specialists and referring clinics.
• Maintain our ambulance to high standards of cleanliness and readiness.
• Support the hospital team as an Animal Attendant or Veterinary Nurse, depending on experience.
• Assist with animal care duties within the clinic environment.

North Shore Veterinary Hospital is looking for a compassionate and reliable Driver to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will provide safe, professional transport for veterinary patients travelling between referring clinics and our specialist emergency hospital, while also supporting our clinical team as an Animal Attendant or Veterinary Nurse (dependent on experience and qualifications).

This is more than driving — you’ll be a vital part of the patient care journey. You’ll help ensure animals are transported safely, calmly and comfortably while supporting our veterinary and nursing teams with patient care, communication and seamless handovers.

In this role, you’ll:

• Safely transport patients between veterinary clinics and our hospital


• Assist with patient handling, loading and unloading


• Monitor patient comfort and welfare during transport


• Work closely with veterinary nurses, specialists and referring clinics


• Maintain our ambulance to the highest standards of cleanliness and readiness


• Support the hospital team as an Animal Attendant or Veterinary Nurse, depending on your level of experience


• Assist with animal care duties within the clinic environment
