ARH Homebush is seeking an Animal Attendant to support the wellbeing of hospitalised patients and assist our care team. The role focuses on cleaning, feeding, walking, and maintaining hygiene across the hospital while minimizing animal handling.

The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, experienced in related environments, reliable, and ready to contribute to a collaborative team. Certificate II/III in Animal Studies is valued but attitude and willingness to learn matter most.

Qualifications

• Experience in an animal hospital, shelter, boarding facility, or similar environment.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to roll up your sleeves.
• Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Cage cleaning and re-setting.
• Walking, feeding, and watering inpatients and boarding animals.
• Maintaining cleanliness of hospital areas, including floors and surfaces.
• Assisting with patient handling and monitoring under staff direction.
• Daily laundry and dishes upkeep.
• Restocking consumables throughout the hospital.

As an Animal Attendant, you will play a critical role in the wellbeing of hospitalised patients we care for. You will be there to provide comfort and the basic necessities - food and water, walks, a clean bed, etc. as well as to support our incredibly hardworking team keeping the hospital sparkling clean and well stocked.Our animal attendant team are greatly valued and are an integral part of the success of the day to day running of our hospital!

Please note that this is a support and cleaning-based role with minimal animal handling.

Yourdutieswill include:

• Cage cleaning and re-setting
