Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Staff Specialist in Anatomical Pathology to join NSWHP Rural and Regional Laboratories (eCred). The role delivers high quality diagnostic and on‑call services, and participates in teaching, research, and quality improvement.

Applicants must be registered or eligible with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of the RCPA or an equivalent credential; demonstrate teamwork, communication, ongoing professional development, and knowledge of NPAAC/NATA standards.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Anatomical Pathology or other specialist recognition.
• Commitment to basic, applied or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training.
• Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with strong communication and adaptability.
• Personal qualities: motivation, initiative, time management and commitment to professional development.
• Commitment to clinical quality management, continuous improvement and knowledge of NPAAC Standards and NATA accreditation processes.
• Contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in Anatomical Pathology.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call services in Anatomical Pathology.
• Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities in line with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
