Central Adelaide Local Health Network’s Statewide Clinical Support Services – SA Pathology invites applications for an Anatomical Pathology Consultant at Women’s and Children’s Hospital, North Adelaide. The role focuses on perinatal, paediatric and obstetric non-complex pathology, including autopsy and cytology support, with multidisciplinary teaching and QA contributions.

Contribute as a consultant member in an Anatomical Pathology team providing high quality, effective and efficient advisory and diagnostic services with focus on perinatal, paediatric and obstetric/non-complex gynaecological pathology including surgical specimens, autopsy and some cytology. Paediatric specimens include solid organ tumour and non-tumour cases in addition to liver biopsies and renal biopsies. The Department coordinates the State Perinatal Autopsy Service which performs approximately 200 perinatal post mortem examinations per year. Contribute and participate in related multidisciplinary meetings and teaching/training activities, quality assurance and continuing education. The appointment will be at 0.7 FTE until August 2027, with the possibility of extension of 0.5 FTE until 30 June 2028.
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
Appropriate Specialist qualifications for a Consultant, registerable as a Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
