Job description

Join Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australia's leading independent law firm.

Take the next step in your career with a role that combines people leadership, commercial thinking and hands-on financial analysis. As Analytics & Reporting Team Leader, you'll lead and develop a team of three analysts while partnering across the business to deliver meaningful financial insights, strengthen reporting and help drive smarter commercial decision-making.

Reporting to the Analytics & Reporting Senior Manager, you'll take ownership of the team's day-to-day delivery, balance competing priorities and ensure reporting and analysis is accurate, insightful and fit for purpose. You'll also have the opportunity to improve processes, embrace automation and approved AI tools, and contribute to analysis across legal practices, matters, pricing and profitability.

What you'll do
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of analysts, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Coordinate workflow and priorities across the team, ensuring deadlines and delivery commitments are effectively managed.
  • Deliver financial modelling and commercial analysis, identifying and evaluating performance trends across legal practice groups.
  • Oversee recurring and ad hoc reporting across legal matter and practice performance, ensuring outputs are accurate, clear and commercially useful.
  • Partner with Commercial Managers and the Head of FP&A to provide analysis and insights that support decision-making.
  • Contribute to pricing proposals, realisation and profitability analysis.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Legal Project Management teams to understand analytical and reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting and processes through stronger controls, automation and approved AI tools.
About you

You're a commercially minded finance or analytics professional who enjoys making sense of data and turning analysis into clear, practical recommendations. Just as importantly, you're someone who enjoys leading people, building capability and creating a team environment where people can do their best work.

You'll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, business or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing people.
  • Strong financial and analytical judgement, with the confidence to review and challenge analytical outputs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience improving financial reporting, processes or ways of working.
  • Strong Excel capability and confidence working across financial systems and data.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, curious approach and strong attention to detail.

A CA, CPA or equivalent qualification, SQL/data modelling experience and previous professional-services experience would be advantageous, but are listed as desirable rather than essential.

Why this role?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analyst or emerging finance leader ready to broaden their impact. You'll combine team leadership with genuine commercial analysis, work across multiple areas of the business and help shape how reporting and analytics are delivered and improved. The role offers exposure to Commercial, FP&A, Business Development, Legal Project Management and broader Finance and Business Services stakeholders.
