Job summary

Tech & Data People is partnering with a well-established organisation to hire an Analytics Engineer on an initial 3-month contract in Melbourne. You will deliver high-priority reporting and analytics initiatives, building scalable data models and dashboards.

You will design dimensional models, develop semantic Power BI models, and work with Microsoft Fabric to provide modern analytics solutions. Collaboration with stakeholders and delivering backlog items will be central to the role.

Qualifications

Experience designing dimensional models (Kimball/Star Schema).
Advanced Power BI development including DAX and semantic modelling.
Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.
Strong SQL skills.
Experience delivering reporting backlogs.
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Experience working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

Design and develop dimensional data models using best-practice methodologies.
Create and maintain semantic models within Power BI.
Build intuitive dashboards and reports that drive business decision-making.
Work across the Microsoft Fabric platform to deliver modern analytics solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting outcomes.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across reporting assets.
Support the ongoing uplift of the organisation's analytics capability.
