Job summary

IAG is recruiting for a Payroll Officer in Sydney. The role focuses on accurate and timely payroll processing within a large insurance group, supporting the Payroll Team Leader and the Payroll Services team.

This 12-month max term opportunity requires at least 1 year of payroll experience and a related degree. The position offers flexible work options, extensive leave, and access to development resources within IAG.

Qualifications

• 1 year Payroll officer experience or similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in a related field (Desirable).
• Strong ability across payroll, finance, HR and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely processing of payroll activities.
• Support Payroll Team leader and Payroll Services team in day-to-day operations.
• Ensure compliance with external laws, regulations and internal audit.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents, analyse and complete requests.
• Identify opportunities for optimisation, standardisation and automation of processes.
• Build strong relationships with service provider teams.
• Maintain clear communication via email, phone, and in person where applicable.
• Participate in monthly customer service reviews.

In this role you will provide accurate and timely processing of payroll activities.

This is a 12 month max term opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney).

What You’ll Do

• Support Payroll Team leader and Payroll Services team in the day-to-day operations,
• Support the team to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees and statutory bodies.
• Ensure compliance of all processes and to external laws, regulations and internal audit.
• Diagnosing and resolving incidents, analysing and completing requests
• Critically observing and identifying, opportunities for optimisation, simplification, standardisation and automation of processes, practices and systems.
• Build strong relationships with Service provider Teams
• Strong communication emphasis – Via email, phone, face to face, where applicable
• Participate in monthly customer service reviews

What You’ll Bring

• 1-year Payroll officer experience or similar role
• Tertiary qualification/s in a related field (Desirable)
• Strong ability across payroll, finance, HR and reporting
• Reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
